In Case You Missed It…

This weekend at (in)real life, we met at the altar of the Living God.

We gathered together with friends near and far. We reconnected, rekindled friendships, got our brave on, and went first with ‘hello’. We laughed, and you bet we cried. We shared raw and real stories of painful friendship breakups, and of what happens when we can’t see beauty yet from the ashes.

We raised our hands in worship, knelt in praise, and asked God the really hard questions we’ve been too scared to utter before. We heard from wise women who have gone first with their stories, their experiences, their bruised and healing hearts. We worshipped together, lifting our hearts and voices to our first and Best Friend.

Women of all ages admitted they’ve dealt with the same struggles, and realized that true strength lies not in trying to keep it all together, but in letting ourselves fall apart.

We took selfies like pros and shared everything #inrl. We rocked our ‘I’m just a sweatpants girl living in a skinny jeans world’ t-shirts, silently handed our neighbors tissues for their tears, and let the girl ahead of us in the lunch line know when she had mascara smudges under her eyes.

Hundreds of women across 4 countries and 35 states tuned in – from their bedrooms with pop-tarts and coffee in hand, from their church basements and favorite coffee shops, from their kitchens while baking pumpkin muffins, and in their mamas’ living rooms. They made space for friendship.

We had the BEST time at (in)real life FRIENDED this weekend, and we didn’t want you to miss it. You can still purchase the simulcast and view it for 30 more days! Let Go of Your Plan and Hold Onto God’s Loving Hand

When I drew some simple flowers one morning and I wanted to share it with my friends online in my Whispers of Rest Book Club, a critical voice said,”This is child’s play. Please don’t embarrass yourself. Other artists will be like ‘pfft, please.'” But then I turned to Jesus, and I saw his gentle smile. And then I breathed. And I decided to share this moment with you. I hope it encourages you to be bold and be you. Don’t listen to the critical voices. Hear instead your loving Savior whisper — You are beautiful and beloved. And you are cherished, valued, […]

Together… We Got This

Christmas was a long time ago. Not only that, but this new year is well under way. Calendars have been flipped and planner pages have been turned and now we are into February. I don’t know about you, but my January felt like it was about 247 days long. It was a little overwhelming and it brought change into our lives. Good change, but change nonetheless. Also it was really cold. I live in Minnesota, so when I say ‘really cold’, I mean like subzero cold. Cold. January got off to a good enough start. I didn’t make resolutions that […]
